On giant display screens, information such as the operation status of the provincial power grid, recent power supply and demand situations, peak and valley periods, the entire process of power purchase and sales business, and substation operation sites can be monitored in real time and controlled online through curves, images, and other means. “This is the application of our electric power big data, playing the roles of ‘clairvoyant eyes’, ‘acute ears’, ‘abacus’, and ‘early warning aircraft’.” The person in charge of the State Grid Hunan Electric Power Operation Monitoring (Control) Center introduced that the company has spent 10 years building an information network covering all substations, power supply stations, and service grids in the province, establishing a big data analysis platform and analysis models. By integrating business data such as power grid development, construction, operation, electricity prices and fees, customer service, and power quality, it comprehensively monitors and analyzes the company’s power purchase and sales business and key performance indicators.
Electricity consumption data is a “barometer” of economic and social development. The monitoring of the State Grid Hunan Electric Power Operation Monitoring (Control) Center shows that from January to November, the total electricity consumption in Hunan Province reached 157.33 billion kWh, with a cumulative growth rate of 10.11%, the highest for the same period since 2011. The electricity demand of new manufacturing industries represented by Lens Technology is very strong, while traditional high-energy-consuming industries operate at a low speed, indicating the continuous adjustment of internal industrial structure and the transformation of old and new driving forces.
Reporting installation and connection is a “weather vane” for the prosperity of the electric power economy. Electric power data has the characteristics of large volume, multiple types, and high value, and there is still much room for exploration in serving government decision-making, serving upstream and downstream enterprises, and serving electric power customers. To this end, the company proposed “six ideas”, namely, to explore economic vitality through industry electricity consumption, to witness urban growth through power grid equipment, to discover ecological changes through data fusion, to observe people’s livelihood through electricity consumption differences, to analyze consumption status through customer electricity usage, and to perceive the connotation of credit through interactive results.
