Fully Automatic Volt-Ampere Characteristic Tester Test Operation Method and Procedure




This instrument is a fully automatic current transformer characteristic testing device. The tests that can be completed by the instrument include: CT volt-ampere characteristic test, CT polarity test, CT ratio and polarity test. The instrument can automatically calculate the error curve at any point of the CT, the CT ratio error, and other result parameters. The instrument has the following characteristics:

After setting the test values according to the interface prompts, there is no need for manual contact with the tested equipment, eliminating tedious tasks such as manual voltage adjustment, manual recording, sorting, and curve drawing. 2. Comprehensive functions: Can test the volt-ampere characteristics of protection CTs, automatically plot 5% and 10% error curves, ratio, and polarity, and can also output large currents for testing the secondary circuit of CTs.

3. Large output capacity: The maximum output voltage for volt-ampere characteristic tests is up to 1000V, the maximum current for ratio tests is up to 600A, and the output capacity of the instrument is 5KVA.

4. Complete optional accessories: Accessories include an external voltage booster, external current booster, and external voltage regulator. The external voltage booster can increase the voltage up to 2000V/3A, the external current booster can increase the current up to 1000A, and the external voltage regulator can output up to 1500V/20A. When using the external voltage booster, volt-ampere characteristic tests can be performed on current transformers of 500KV class with 1A current.

Automatic testing: Fast, simple, and convenient. The power supply automatically adapts to 380AC and 220AC, automatically calculates the knee point voltage and current and the composite error, and intuitively judges whether the transformer is qualified. 1) The instrument can perform qualitative measurement on voltage transformers: During measurement, the instrument applies a certain power frequency voltage to the primary side of the voltage transformer, and can measure the primary voltage and the secondary induced voltage, obtaining the ratio and polarity of the voltage transformer at that voltage, and can also perform volt-ampere characteristic experiments on voltage transformers.

2) The instrument can measure the on-site secondary load of current and voltage transformers, and can measure the ratio error and phase error of the current transformer under that load.

a) Can be connected to an external voltage regulator for testing: If the output voltage or current of the single unit cannot meet the requirements, a user-provided voltage regulator can be connected to the device for testing. The wiring and test method for the external voltage regulator are very simple.

b) Optional external voltage booster: The optional external voltage booster can increase the voltage up to 2000V, 3A, and can be used for volt-ampere characteristic tests on 5000/1 class current transformers.
