III. Operating Environment:
1. Working Power Supply: 380V ±10% 50HZ
2. Ambient Temperature: —10℃ to 40℃
3. The product should be placed in a place free from gases, vapors, chemical dust, dirt, or other explosive media that seriously affect transformer insulation.
IV. Working Principle:
After connecting the working power supply, this series of products adjusts the output voltage of the voltage regulator to obtain the required high current for testing. The working principle diagram is as follows:
V. Control Panel:
1. Power Indicator: After connecting the power supply, turn on the air switch, and the power indicator lights up.
2. Current Rise ↑ Indicator: Press current rise ↑, when the voltage regulator increases voltage, this current rise ↑ indicator lights up.
3. Current Drop ↓ Indicator: Press current drop ↓, when the voltage regulator decreases voltage, this current drop ↓ indicator lights up.
4. Zero Position Indicator: Press the stop button, after the voltage regulator returns to zero, this indicator lights up.
5. Working Indicator: Press the start button, the working indicator lights up, indicating that the current booster is connected and current can be raised.
6. Start Button: After the power control is connected to the power supply, the internal voltage regulator automatically returns to zero. Only after the zero adjustment indicator lights up can you press the start button, and the working indicator lights up.
7. Range Conversion: When the test current is less than 1000A, the arrow of the range conversion switch points to 1000A. When the test current is between 1000A and 5000A, the arrow points to 5000A.
8. Stop Button: During the test, if abnormal situations occur or other needs to terminate the test, press this button.
VI. Usage Methods and Precautions:
1. In the current generator control cabinet: connect the output terminal to the input terminals a and x of the current booster; connect the instrument terminal in the control cabinet to the instrument measurement terminal of the current booster.
2. The transformer shell, operation console, and main unit must be properly grounded.
3. Turn on the air switch in the chassis, and the power indicator lights up. The voltage regulator of the control console automatically adjusts to zero, the zero adjustment indicator lights up, waiting for current rise. Set the test time (by time setting), current (rotate the current selection switch). Press the start button once, the working indicator lights up, indicating that the current booster is connected to the control power supply, then press the current rise ↑ button to start raising current.
① The current starts from zero and rises, and closely observe the indication of the measuring instrument and the condition of the tested object.
② This control console is semi-automatic control. After setting the test time (by time setting), turn on the air switch, first press start, then press the current rise button to the required current. It has functions such as manual current rise, current drop ↓, automatic timing, and automatic return to zero.
4. Rotate the voltage regulator evenly clockwise, and pay attention to the output current indication on the operation console until the required high current is reached. To ensure test accuracy, a standard ammeter can be connected in series at the instrument terminals.
5. During the test, once abnormal phenomena are found, immediately cut off the power supply, find out the cause, and then conduct the test again.
6. After the test, the voltage regulator must be returned to zero, press the stop button to cut off the power supply, and cut off the working power supply before removing the test wiring to ensure safety.
VII. Precautions:
1. This equipment is designed for short-term or long-term work. The working time is determined by the percentage of the required current to the rated current (capacity). It is especially not allowed to run for a long time exceeding 200% of the rated current to prevent overheating. The time is as follows:
Load Duty Cycle % Maximum Allowable Working Time (seconds) Three-Phase Current Error
200 300 10%
150 500 10%
100 Continuous 10%
Note: Since this equipment works under high current conditions, the impedance and geometric shape of the load are required to be the same, otherwise the three-phase current error will be large.
2. For newly installed transformers or those not used for a long time, measure the insulation resistance between coils and between coils and ground with a 1500 megohm meter before operation. Only when the resistance value is not lower than 0.5 megohm can it be used.
3. During use, the current booster transformer and the operation console must be reliably grounded to ensure safety.
4. When using, the current should be raised slowly and evenly, and avoid excessive vibration during handling.
5. The contact surface between the voltage regulator and the carbon brush should be kept clean. If necessary, wipe it clean with cotton yarn dipped in 90% alcohol.
6. This equipment should be stored indoors in a clean, ventilated, and dry place.
