Transformer capacity characteristic tester is a portable, intelligent power detection device specially used for rapid on-site

accurate measurement and evaluation of core performance parameters of power transformers.

It is mainly used by power departments, industrial and mining enterprises, transformer manufacturers, and power engineering companies for transformer installation acceptance, preventive tests, fault diagnosis, and electricity consumption inspection.

⚙️ Core Functions and Test Items

This type of tester usually integrates multiple functions, and one device can often replace traditional multiple testing instruments (such as capacity tester, loss parameter tester, harmonic analyzer, etc.). Its main test items include:

Transformer capacity test: This is its most core function. The instrument usually adopts the "low-voltage short-circuit method", applies a lower test voltage to the transformer, measures parameters such as short-circuit loss and current, and combines with the built-in database and algorithm to intelligently match and calculate the actual rated capacity (kVA) of the transformer.

Loss characteristic test:

No-load loss (iron loss): Measures the active power when the secondary side is open-circuited at rated voltage, reflecting the hysteresis and eddy current losses of the iron core.

Load loss (copper loss): Measures the active power when one side winding is short-circuited at rated current, reflecting the loss generated by winding resistance.

Impedance voltage (short-circuit impedance) test: Measures the parameter of the transformer's ability to withstand short-circuit, which is crucial for relay protection setting and system short-circuit current calculation.

Auxiliary functions: Modern instruments usually also have functions such as harmonic analysis, vector diagram drawing, automatic temperature/waveform correction, data storage and printing.
